Cynthia’s on Winifred opiniones
13Food is nice! Although the portions could be a little bigger. We waited almost 2 hours for our food to be ready, we almost gave up waiting until it finally arrived. Luckily the location makes up for it, great beach views!
Great food in a beautiful location. Portions were generous and there was a nice vegetarian selection too. Very reasonably priced drinks. The beach location is stunning.
Cynthia was also extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome.
Good food at the locals public beach. Support what you believe in. Go here if you want good, local food *on a beach* where you can take a dip while you wait, or just talk with people and learn about where you are. If you want a reliable menu (Cynthia serves what she has, call ahead if you want something specific) or punctual service (maybe our food was given to another table first by accident, it's a family operation) head to a restaurant elsewhere.
We went to Cynthia’s because I have read the good reviews, however, we were very disappointed. The food was extremely expensive, probably because we were white foreigners ️ even the food wasn’t that yummy. In short: to go there it’s not worth at all
Schade. Eine coole Location mit authentischem Flair. Nur leider nicht das, was es verspricht.
Must visit! Curry coat and jerk chicken. Both are legendary! Also on the same beach across Cynthia’s they have the best jerk chicken among all the jerks we had in our two-week stay!
Absolutely mouthwatering food for a good price, and run by a lovely woman. Long live Cynthia’s!
One of the best meals we had in Portland. Cynthia has a couple of options (fried chicken, grilled fish and vegetables when we were there). Her Jamaica sides are amazing: breadfruit that had the perfect crust, festival (fried dough) that was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. She is also a super friendly and warm lady. The fish, chicken, sides, 4 beers and tip was $5000JMD.
There are a lot of shops on the beach, her place is to the left as you enter.
Amazing meal to top off a great day at the beach. Cynthia is a lovely person and a great cook.
I first learned about Cynthia’s place through Anthony Bourdain (Rest In Paradise). It did not at all disappoint. Aside from the king fish she prepared being lovely, Cynthia herself was kind and hospitable. She thought my dad and I forgot about the food we ordered for we went for a swim while it was being prepared, and so she sent two people to look for us. When that proved ineffective, she made sure to keep our fish warm in the back. When and if I’m next in Port Antonio, I’ll be sure to visit her restaurant again. Thanks for making Jamaica shine even brighter, Cynthia.
This place is an institution. Cynthia is not only very active in saving the beach from private developers she also runs the world famous Cynthia’s on Winifred cafe as features in Anthony Bourdains travel and food documentary. Food good and the atmosphere perfect. Eco concious and doesn’t use disposable containers.
Amazing food and Cynthia is just as nice as the food & Winifed Beach is the perfect setting. Like Bourdain we had to go back the next day for more.
Small shack you’d probably miss, but delicious.
Trust what she’s got is fresh and wait 25-30 minutes for a scrumptious meal.
We
Had black snapper, festival, fried plantains and steamed veggies.
Finger licking good!
